La Salada
La Salada
Domingo, a young coffee producer from San Sebastian, Lempira in Honduras, began his journey after finishing elementary school by learning to cultivate staple crops alongside his father during his teenage years. At the age of 18, he moved to the city to work in a factory, saving his wages with the main goal of purchasing land in his hometown. Nearly a decade later, he returned, built a house, bought land, and began planting coffee trees with the help of his brother.
Eventually, Domingo moved back home permanently to care for his farm and provide employment opportunities within the local community. The long-standing reputation of San Sebastian for producing quality coffee inspired him and his family to acquire more land and fully dedicate themselves to coffee cultivation. Since his first harvest 13 years ago, Domingo has been working with Bon Café. He says that through this partnership, he has learned a great deal about agricultural techniques, environmental stewardship, and coffee processing. This knowledge has enabled him to produce better and more profitable harvests, support his family, and steadily expand his business.
